Manitowoc (Hangzhou) Refrigeration Co., Ltd. was founded in Hangzhou in 1994 to produce and sell world famous “Manitowoc” brand ice machines. Manitowoc Hangzhou is a subsidiary of the Manitowoc Company in the U.S., a public company traded on NYSE. The company has more than 40 years of experience in ice machine technologies and services and is the largest ice machine manufacturer in the U.S. with 46% market share. Over the past ten years, “Manitowoc” has become the best-selling brand in the Chinese market. Manitowoc Hangzhou is the first to pass the ISO9001 certification in the Chinese ice machine industry. The quality and service of Manitowoc ice machines have been trusted and well received by hundreds of customers, some of which are world-class companies such as Hilton, Marriott, Sheraton, Hyatt, Shangri-La, Holiday Inn, KFC, McDonalds, and many other hotel and fast-food chains.
In order to meet the increasing demand in China and other countries, Manitowoc Company decided to increase its investment in China and to set up Manitowoc (China) Refrigeration Co., Ltd. in Hangzhou Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone in Nov 2003. With the most-advanced manufacturing technology in the industry and numerous patents, the new factory has become the largest manufacturer of ice machines and other related foodservice equipment in China and the largest production base of Manitowoc Foodservice Group outside the United States. Many of the key components are imported from the U.S. and Europe and 70% of its products are exported to the U.S. and European markets.
